The Fellowship of Hope
How common is magic?
Overall, magic is somewhat rare. Wizards/Wizardry is looked at as the “normal” way to learn and practice magic. Pact magic is simply evil and warlocks are considered to have sold their soul in order to gain power quickly; it is one of the highest forms of heresy. Wild magic sorcerers are considered risks to the safety of society and are heavily watched and/or brought in to keep an eye on. Dragon magic is considered a gift of the gods since it is a dragon sorcerer that ends up becoming a dragon. Chromatics are viewed more cautiously, but having chromatic dragon magic is by no means a guarantee of being evil.
Clerics and Druids are considered to have been granted powers from the gods. They are largely viewed as extensions of the gods among the people. The misuse of this power is considered to be another form of heresy.
Are people afraid of them?
Depends on the kind of magic they’re using, but it’s certainly… notable.
